Saplings of ornamental and medicinal plants were distributed to the karyakartas of St Cruz BJP mandal at the hands of MLA Tony Fernandes at a function held at Kadamba Tourist Home, Merces on Sunday.
Over 400 saplings were distributed which will be planted by mandal karyakartas of 39 booths across the St Cruz constituency.
Speaking on the occasion mandal president Pramod Kamat explained the importance of tree plantation by stating ‘plant a tree and get oxygen free’.
State vice president Anil Hoble, ZP member Girish Uskaikar and Tulsidas Madkaikar also spoke.
District Mahila General Secretary Gauri Kamat, Hemant Golatkar, Pradeep Vengurlekar and other karyakartas of BJP were present.
