A 48-year-old married man ended his life in Valpoi town in the early hours of Wednesday. According to reports, Menino Fernandes is believed to have ended his life over a love affair with a young woman.
Fernandes had reportedly posted a message on Facebook a few hours before his death regarding his relationship with a young woman, stating that he was ending his life over the love affair.
Sources said Fernandes had been employed in the Gulf and had returned to Goa barely a month ago.
Valpoi police sent the body for an autopsy at the GMC hospital and the final rites are expected to take place on Thursday.
PSI Tulshidas Dhuri is investigating the case under the guidance of Valpoi Police Inspector Sagar Ekoskar.
