V M Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE) recently organised an awareness talk on Breast Cancer.
The resource speaker for the same Dr R C Suvarna Fonseca e Antão focused on creating awareness on breast cancer and reducing the stigma linked to the early symptoms and treatment involved in the ailment. The students, faculty and staff were enlightened with information on the different types of breast cancer, causes and risk factors involved, early symptoms and myths related to it. She also highlighted the importance of self-examination for women to identify cancer at an early stage as a step towards prevention and early diagnosis.
