On the occasion of World Cancer Day, executive committee of IMA Goa State will be hosting a webinar on ‘Awareness and Prevention of Cancer conducted by Dr Shekhar Salkar on February 4 at 7 pm. The webinar will also have the presence of Dr Rufino Monteiro, president, IMA Goa and Dr Amol Tilve, secretary, IMA Goa. The public is invited to participate in the cancer awareness quiz and win prizes. The quiz is open to all residents of Goa till 1 pm on February 4 for online response. Compulsory attendance at time of the webinar at 7 pm to be eligible for the prize. The announcement will happen during the webinar and the winners will be requested to share video and unmute. World Cancer Day is observed annually on February 4 across the world since 2000, on the call of Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to create awareness. The year 2022 being the first year of the three-year UICC campaign “ ‘Close the care gap’ to identify and address the barriers that exist for many people around the world to access the care they need.
