The Department of Mechanical Engineering at AITD, Goa in association with the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa, on the occasion of the World Youth Skills Day (July 15) conducted a webinar on “Career Opportunities in Supply Chain Management” for the TE & BE Students of Mechanical Engineering on Thursday.
Digvijay Vinod Wani, Logistics Manager, eemagine Medical Imaging Solutions GmbH, Berlin, Germany was the speaker. Wani introduced the students to Supply Chain Management (SCM) and focused on the development of skills and knowledge to work in this sector with the automotive industry and warehouses as examples. He also highlighted the scope and the jobs prospects in SCM. He gave insights about the higher education in SCM abroad and the exposure students can get. Wani stressed the importance of maintaining an active Linkedin account for students as most companies in India and abroad prefer to verify with it. The session came to an end with few questions about language barriers and adaptability abroad, SCM Education in India and varied roles and growth as an SCM professional.
