6th accused held in Methar murder case

Porvorim police have arrested the sixth accused, Santosh Pillai (29) of Shetyewado in Duler-Mapusa in connection with the murder of social activist Vilas Methar.

The five accused who have so far been arrested are Altaf Yargatti (37), Khayyad Sheikh (35), Pawan Badigeri (30), Prashant Dabholkar (36) and Ikbal Nanpuri (31).

Porvorim police mentioned that investigations have revealed the alleged involvement of Pillai in the murder of Methar last week.

The accused will be produced before the Judicial Magistrate First Class at Mapusa for remand. Investigations are in progress.
