Archbishop of Bombay Cardinal Oswald Gracias, presidentof the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CBCI) and one of the topmostconsultors to Pope Francis, has appealed to everyone to transform the wholeworld to one family, which is envisioned in the new Encyclical Letter of PopeFrancis 'Fratelli Tutti'.
Cardinal Gracias delivered a message following therelease of the Indian edition of the Encyclical letter at the Holy NameCathedral, Mumbai, after his online Sunday Eucharistic celebration, which wasattended by more than 30,000 all over the world.
“The individualism focusing on I and mine should be takenaway from our life and we should become other-oriented persons. We have theresponsibility to promote brotherhood and solidarity and reach out to the poorand the suffering,” said Cardinal Gracias.
He expressed happiness on seeing the name of MahatmaGandhi, the Father of our Nation, who was a champion of universal brotherhood,in the Papal Encyclical.
Cardinal Gracias also released two more books: “Strong inthe Face of Tribulation”, of Pope Francis’ pandemic homilies, prayers, andmessages and “The Pastoral Conversion”, an instruction by the Congregation forthe Clergy, which gives the outlines for the renewal of parish structures in amore dynamic and missionary direction.
The books are published by the Conference of CatholicBishops of India (CCBI) and copies are available with the CCBI GeneralSecretariat (Ph: 9886730224), states a press note issued by CBCI DeputySecretary General Rev. Dr Stephen Alathara.
