TG Quepem correspondent Bailon Mascarenhas passes away

PANAJI

Bailon Neville Mascarenhas of Cusmane-Quepem, The Goan correspondent for Quepem taluka, passed away following a brief illness on Sunday night. He was 59.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys and their three children.

The final rites took place at the Holy Cross Church cemetery at Quepem on Monday evening, with only close family members on account of Covid pandemic restrictions.

PORVORIMPorvorim police have arrested the sixth accused, Santosh Pillai (29) of Shetyewado in Duler-Mapusa in connection with the murder of social activist Vilas Methar.The five accused who have so far been arrested are Altaf Yargatti (37), Khayyad Sheikh (35), Pawan Badigeri (30), Prashant Dabholkar (36) and Ikbal Nanpuri (31).Porvorim police mentioned that investigations have revealed the alleged involvement of Pillai in the murder of Methar last week.The accused will be…
