MARGAO: Agxem Sports Club put up a dominant 4-0 win over Batora United Club to reach the semi-finals of the 9-a-side tournament organised by Sporting Clube Virabhat, at St Alex Church ground, Curtorim
The deadlock was broken early in the sixth minute by Agxem's Manuel Casthana. Batora nearly found an equaliser in the 10th minute, but Benzy Pereira's attempt went astray. Nuckson Casthana further solidified Agxem's lead in the 14th minute.
Despite creating chances in the 34th and 36th minutes, Selviton Fernandes was unable to convert for Agxem. Elroy Gomes capitalised on a connection from Selviton Fernandes in the 40th minute, putting Agxem further ahead. Adriel Martin put the game out of reach for Batora with a dazzling brace for Agxem.
Adriel Martin's exceptional performance on the field was acknowledged with the man of the match award presented by Stanley Fernandes.
