Archbishop opens Good Shepherd Sisters convent, oratory

Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao blessed the newly constructed convent and Oratory of the Good Shepherd Sisters at Tollecanto, Velim on December 19 in the presence of Sr Pushpa Louis, Provincial, and her team. In attendance were former Provincial Sr Sabina Pathrose and her team, Parish Priest Fr Luis Coutinho, the Good Shepherd Sisters, priests, religious and parishioners. The convent was inaugurated at the hands of the Provincial Sr Pushpa Louis, followed by the holy eucharist and the blessing of the house and the oratory by Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao.  In his message, the Archbishop congratulated the sisters for their new presence and lauded the work done by the sisters for the poor and the needy “ especially for working for the empowerment of women. The sisters of Good Shepherd look after destitute and distressed women. The congregation, which was founded by St Mary Euphrasia Pelletier in 1835 has their presence in 74 countries of the world.  Sisters of the Good Shepherd also run a few premier educational institutions at the secondary level across the country.

Free Nritya Yoga workshop held at Panaji

PANAJI Ddhyana, the wellness retreat centre Campal, in association with Nirbhay Bhav academy for performing arts conducted a two-hour-long free Nritya Yoga workshop in Panaji which was first of its kind in the State.
