PANAJI
Ddhyana, the wellness retreat centre Campal, in association with Nirbhay Bhav academy for performing arts conducted a two-hour-long free Nritya Yoga workshop in Panaji which was first of its kind in the State. The workshop was open for participants from all walks of life, and of all ages. “As we received an overwhelming response, Ddhyana plans to conduct Nritya Yoga workshops on a regular basis,” states Sudesh Salgaonkar, dance choreographer and founder of Nirbhay Bhav. “Nritya Yoga is a beautiful amalgamation of yoga with dance. It is a unique technique to blend yoga with certain dance forms and is designed for the well-being of a person. It aligns the body, mind and emotions and helps to release stress, by improving serotonin. It also enhances the energy levels to a significant extent,” claims one of the participants, Shriya Shetgaonkar, dietician. This form of dance fitness is special as it not only makes the regular yoga more fun and enthusiastic but also brings in a certain element of poise and balance within oneself. The participants experience the power of yoga in their dance moves and are able to perform at a different level of energy.
