Local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and social activist Ganpat Gaonkar has assured that all land ownership issues in Sattari would be resolved immediately if the TMC comes to power in the State.
Speaking at a public meeting in Mauxi panchayat of Poriem constituency, Gaonkar slammed local politicians for failing to resolve the issue of land rights in Sattari, which have cause severe problems to people in Sattari taluka.
Stating that the people of Sattari had stood firmly behind Pratapsing Rane and had elected him for several terms, Gaonkar said there is now a wave towards change in Poriem constituency.
“If the TMC comes into power in the State, the issue of land rights and the problem of wild animals destroying crops and cultivations will be resolved,” said Gaonkar.
“The people of Poriem constituency are now awake and the Bahujan Samaj now has a good opportunity to lead. There is a strong anti-BJP wave in many parts of the constituency,” said Gaonkar, while appealing to people to support the TMC in the upcoming assembly elections.
Dashrath Manjrekar accused elected leaders of having exploited the people of Sattari taluka.
Earlier in the day, Gaonkar and TMC workers went on a house-to-house campaign in Mauxi village.
