Kala Academy has announced prizes for its 54th Marathi Drama ‘A’ group 2021-22 competition and the first prize of Rs 1,00,000 was won by Athashree Ponda's play 'Sau', the second prize of Rs 75,000 was bagged by Shree Nagesh Mahalaxmi Prasadik Natyasamaj, Bandivade Ponda's play 'Fakt Chovis Taas' and the third prize of Rs 50,000 was pocketed by Vijaykumar's Travelling Box Theatre Warkhande Ponda's play 'Palshetchi Vihir'. The consolation prize of Rs 25,000 was given to Rajhans Club Panaji's play 'The Trial'.For direction the first prize Rs 10,000 went to Aditya Jambhale for (Sau), the second prize of Rs 7,000 to Sushant Nayak (Fakt Chovis Taas) and the third prize of Rs 5,000 to Vijaykumar Naik (Palshetchi Vihir).
In the individual prizes for acting (male) category Aditya Jambhale (Tatyarao in Sau) won the first prize of Rs 7,000, Amogh Budkule (Raghav in Fakt Chovis Taas) got second prize of Rs 5,000 and certificate of participation was given to Ashwek Desai, Vyankatesh Gaunekar, Salil Naik, Charudatta Phadke, Vardhan Kamat, Abhishek Naik, Ugam Jambaulikar, Narayan Asha Anand, Sangam Chodankar and Pundalik Kavlekar.
Similarly, the individual prizes for acting (female) category, the first prize of Rs 7,000 was won by Tanvi Desai Jambhale (Mai in Sau) and the second prize of Rs 5,000 by Shrinika Naik (Anura in Fakta Chovis Taas), while the certificate of participation was given to Prajakta Lotlikar, Shruti Desai, Madhuri Shetkar, Vaishnavi Pai Kakode, Sadhvi Maujekar, Suvidha Bakhale, Anuja Purohit and Dr Sanskruti Raikar.
For stage decor Abhijit Jambhale (Sau) won a prize of Rs 5,000 and Yogesh Kapdi got the certificate. For lighting Sushant Naik (Fakta Chovis Taas) won a prize of Rs 5,000 and a certificate was given to Srinivas Usgaonkar (Sau). For dressing Adarsha Govekar (Palshetchi Vihir) won a prize of Rs 5,000. For sound/music Gajanan Zharmekar (Pedro aani Captain) won Rs 5,000 and a certificate was given to Viraj Naik (Palshetchi Vihir). For makeup Mahadev Sawant (Pedro aani Captain) won Rs 5,000. In script writing the first prize of Rs 10,000 went to Dr Smita Jambhale (Sau). A prize for translated/transformed script especially for the contest of Rs 10,000 was given to Narayan Asha Anand. The jury for the contest were Arun Bhadsavle, Bharat Jagtap and Vishwas Pangarkar.
