VALPOI: An artist and environment researcher from Bhuipal-Sattari has encouraged schoolchildren to use natural colours in the celebration of Rang Panchami. Addressing a group of students, Suryakant Gaonkar said colours commercially used in the celebration of Rang Panchami have chemicals and can be dangerous to health. Advocating the use of natural colours, Gaonkar gave demonstrations on leaf art and natural colours by using flowers. Others present on the occasion included Narhari Haldankar (President of Valpoi Shikshan Sanstha), Makrand Velingkar (Vice President of the Sanstha) and Prasad Velingkar (Teacher in charge of Primary Department).
