ZUARINAGAR: The Readers' Club of MES College of Arts & Commerce inaugurated its activities for the new semester recently at the hands of Dr Arunlal Mokeri, author, translator and speaker who currently works as an Assistant Professor, Dept of English, Government College, Mokeri, Kerala. Dr Mokeri's talk titled, 'The End of Print Modernity and the New Turns in Reading,' discussed the beauty of reading the print version and the convenience of reading the digital version. The talk raised questions of whether 'reading' in an electronic format is actually reading. The Club aims to discuss reading, review books and organise activities that involves and sustains the reading habits of students while also trying to initiate the culture of reading amongst the students.
Artist encourages use of natural colours
VALPOI: An artist and environment researcher from Bhuipal-Sattari has encouraged schoolchildren to use natural colours in the celebration of Rang Panchami. Addressing a group of students, Suryakant Gaonkar said colours commercially used in the celebration of Rang Panchami have chemicals and can be dangerous to health.
