Vasco police have booked a woman employee of the Bogmalo Beach Resort for allegedly misappropriating company funds by transferring money meant for vendors into her personal bank account over a period of several months.
According to the complaint filed by Nitin Patil, Accounts Manager of Bogmalo Beach Resort, the accused, Preeti Naique of Mala-Panaji, was employed as an accounts executive at the resort and was entrusted with handling financial transactions on behalf of the company. The complaint states that from October 2025 till date, Naique is alleged to have dishonestly transferred funds on several occasions from the resort’s accounts to her own bank account. The alleged acts resulted in a financial loss of Rs 12,72,835 to Bogmallo Beach Resort.
Acting on the complaint, Vasco police have registered an offence under Sections 316(4) and 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is being carried out by Vasco PSI Plato Carvalho under the supervision of PI Vaibhav Naik and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
