Ecstasy and the Abstract Truth - a book of erotic verse penned by Niloufer Rohira and published by White Falcon Publishing, will be released on September 21. In her book Niloufer attempts to break the taboo that surrounds sex and all conversations about it. The poems by this author who lives and works between Goa and Mumbai, are classy, subtle and set in the everyday lives of regular people. The author endeavours to do away with the hypocrisy surrounding the most basic human instincts. The poems are dreams and fantasies that all people have, but are afraid to execute or to put into words. The Foreword to the book has been written by Mahabanoo Mody-Kotwal. Niloufer, a catering graduate, with a background in hospitality, is the owner of Streaminlive, a company that promotes live western music. Writing is her passion and she feels deeply and strongly about the subjects she chooses. These poems are an honest attempt to give a voice to repressed feelings and emotions. She hopes to contribute to the empowerment of women in particular, through her writing. There is no moral or normative stance. The mind being the most powerful aphrodisiac of all, these poems are an embarkation point for new journeys of self-discovery.
