OLD GOA
Even as the State government has promised 16,000 litres of free water to Goans from this month, some villages like Curca are struggling to get water supply and that too, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Some affected locals have had to rely on water supplied by local panch Gautam Naik, who has ensured that water reaches households of two areas, Wadwad and Molebhat, in Curca.
When contacted, Naik told The Goan that water supply in the two areas has been affected for more than three days and people are struggling to meet their daily water needs.
“As Goans are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, the water requirement increases manifold. Therefore, I have arranged to supply water to the people of Wadwad and Molebhat through my water tanker,” Naik added.
