The whole world loves the glamour of Bollywood actors and actresses, but I was shocked to see this poster advertisement in my village of Siolim. Despite opposition in gramsabhas, neighbouring villages like Anjuna and Vagator have put up huge posters for night blast parties without permission from the local panchayat. The most shocking was the print “Bollywood B***ES” advertisement on one of the hoardings. I wonder if Bollywood actors and their counterparts feel happy or hurt by such advertisements? Despite residents of Anjuna facing issues with noise pollution from nightclubs, the police cannot book them, and even High Court orders are ignored by owners with patronage from Delhi. Our Goa government allows violations of state rules. I appeal to Bollywood actresses and tourists visiting Goa to boycott such nightclubs that disrupt local peace and hurt fans’ sentiments. Enjoyment should not come at the expense of Goa’s elderly, sick, and children.
