The functioning of the Chimbel panchayat is likely to be affected at least for a month, as its staff will be employed to file replies to RTI queries.
A public notice pasted outside the panchayat states that information has been sought under RTI by 25 different applicants, which is voluminous and requires to spare the entire staff for the purpose.
“In view of the above the regular administration of the panchayat will be adversely affected. Public is requested to take note of the same,” the notice signed by Panchayat Secretary Rajendra Gawas, who is also the public information officer, states.
While, in another related public notice, the Chimbel panchayat has stated that it will not collect any type of taxes and fees up to November 14.
