Colva police file FIR against 2 persons under Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act

The Colva police on Monday registered a FIR against two persons under the provisions of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.The police claimed that the duo had allegedly arranged their oxen at Carmona for the entertainment of the people, thus violating the provision of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act. The police are on the look out for the accused persons.

PERNEMPernem police have arrested Bishu Kharia (29), a native of Jharkhand but residing at Chopdem-Pernem on charges of illegal sand extraction. Pernem PI Jivba Dalvi said a police team on patrol found the accused extracting sand in a canoe from the Chapora river on Sunday evening.The canoe was seized and taken into custody, while an FIR was registered under Section 4 of Goa Minor Minerals Concession rules and Section 379 IPC.The accused has been lodged in police lockup and…
