Dr Phaldesai’s 3 books on Folklore to be released today

Three new books penned by renowned scholar and folklorist Dr Pandurang R Phaldesai “ ‘Folk Tales from New Goa, India’, ‘Typological Insights into Folklore of Goa’ and ‘Goa: Folklore Studies “ A Ready Reckoner’ will be released on February 24 at 5 pm at the conference hall at Institute Menezes Braganza at the hands of another renowned scholar and folklorist Padma Shree Vinayak Khedekar.

The function will be presided over by the former speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly, artist, writer, tiatr director and educationist Tomazinho Cardozo. Critic, translation expert and convener of Konkani language at Sahitya Akademi (New Delhi) Dr Bhushan Bhave will speak on the book on Folk Tales and Folklore Studies. Scholar in folk theatre and lecturer at Government College, Quepem Dr Tanvi Kamat Bambolkar-Kadam will speak on the book on Typology of Goan Folklore.
