DTW invites applications for various schemes

Panaji: The Directorate of Tribal Welfare has urged Scheduled Tribe (ST) students to take advantage of various schemes that provide financial assistance. These schemes include the Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST students studying in classes V to X, which is state-sponsored. Regular students belonging to the ST community with an annual family income not exceeding Rs 3,00,000 are eligible to apply. Another scheme, the Gagan Bharari Shiksha Yojana, is for ST students pursuing post-matriculation courses in recognised institutions. To qualify, students must have an annual family income not exceeding Rs 5,00,000.

The Merit-Based Awards scheme benefits ST students who have passed Class X or XII with a minimum of 50% marks from recognised institutions and an annual family income not exceeding Rs 5,00,000. Additionally, the Home Nursing Scheme is available for regular ST students who were born in Goa and have been domiciled in the state for at least 15 years. Applicants for this scheme must have an annual family income not exceeding Rs 6,00,000.

Applications for these schemes can be submitted on the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Portal at [https://cmscholarship.goa.gov.in](https://cmscholarship.goa.gov.in). Detailed eligibility criteria for each scheme can be found on the Directorate of Tribal Welfare’s website at [https://www.tribalwelfare.goa.gov.in](https://www.tribalwelfare.goa.gov.in). The deadline for submitting applications for these four schemes has been extended to 15th January 2025.
