The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing large-scale land fraud in Goa, has registered a fresh First Information Report (FIR) against suspended Mamlatdar Rahul Dessai. The FIR also names a few others who were also booked in previous cases of land scams.
With this, he is likely to be re-arrested in the case. Dessai already faces two FIRs by the SIT for an offense wherein he is charged with conniving with a prime accused Royson Rodrigues and his accomplices to forge land-related documents and allow their sale for a whopping amount. He was suspended but managed to get bail in the earlier case.
