The PC TRUST has initiated an award by friends, admirers, parishioners for the praiseworthy legacy that Fr Jose Antonio Da Costa has etched in the hearts and minds of people of Chinchinim.
The annual award effective from 2020-21 for a student who tops in Std XII Science Goa Board in MM Higher Secondary and for a student who ranks first at SSC Goa Board from MMH, SMA schools in Chinchinim village. The toppers will also be featured in PC Trust Sports and Music magazine.
It is a gesture of gratitude to the parish priest of Chinchinim Fr Jose Antonio Da Costa.
The award was initiated for Fr Costa on his birthday June 6 in the presence of trustees, select invitees at Mount Marys Higher Secondary premises, his pet project.
Fr Da Costa cut the traditional cake and was presented with the newly constituted award certificate. Nelson Lopes compered the function and spoke about the award and gratitude for Fr Da Costa. Prof Maggie spoke eloquently of his enduring qualities. Valentino, a trustee expressed thanks and Fr Da Costa also spoke. Under the Trust, awards have been initiated in names of late Fr Oscar de Mello Furtado, Fr Nascimento Mascarenhas, Fr Roberto Vaz, Navelim, Fr Presentacao Furtado, Fr Antimo Gomes, Maestro Carlos Rodrigues, Eng FN Rod, sir J DCruz by Villagers of Chinchinim, friends, admirers etc. It is an open scheme and voluntary participation is appreciated.
