Cycle rally was flagged off to commemorate the Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary by Principal Ruben D'costa of Gaunkar HSS, Raia. Around 93 students including ex-students and teaching staff from Loutolim, Fatorda and Raia participated in the fitness-cum-cycle rally programme. A distance of around 10kms was covered in and around Raia Village keeping in mind the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan principles of cleanliness, hygiene and fitness among the villagers and students of the Gaunkar HSS. Principal D'costa, in his flag of speech highlighted the importance of health and fitness of everyone and to inculcate true sense of good values and virtues to be a good citizen of this country. Further at Manora Village, the Chaplin Fr Cristo Pinto along with youth members of Our Lady of Monsaratte Chapel undertook cleanliness drive along the Manora village roadsides. Both the events were the joint project of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
