Manoj Caculo, president of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), through a press release, has extended the support of the business community for the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s decision, of not announcing a complete lockdown in the State. The GCCI press release says, “We strongly support Chief Minister of Goa, Dr Pramod Sawant, in his decision to keep economic activity rolling by avoiding complete lockdown. Industry is following all prescribed SOPs and acting responsible to avoid the spread of COVID-19. We need to keep business running to ensure all employees are paid... It’s the uncontrolled social and political events that are responsible for the spread. Let the government put strict restrictions and control on them. Needless to say, enforcement to control unwarranted movement is a must, especially after working hours.”
