Hoping to have a positive impact on their initiative to grow women entrepreneurship in the State, GCCI “ Women’s Wing has signed a memorandum of understanding with MEWO - a meetings and co-working facility in Panaji. The purpose of creating this new channel of co-operation was to support and guide the early stage start-ups of members and other women entrepreneurs and direct them to MEWO for guidance and mentoring and try to help them to scale up their businesses. Both the organisations plan to join their synergies together by encouraging budding women entrepreneurs by hand holding them and try and support them from the start to the end.
Besides recommending MEWO to all business women and professionals approaching the women’s wing for support or guidance, they also plan to try and jointly push new initiatives and build a support ecosystem to encourage women entrepreneurs in Goa to sustain and thrive in an economic scenario amid Covid-19 and in a post-Covid world. On this occasion Shrinivas Dempo, chairman of Dempo Group of Industries, Manoj Caculo, president of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with Pallavi Salgaocar, chairperson of GCCI- Women's Wing, Poonam Shirsat, co -chairperson of GCCI Women Wing and Abrar Shaikh, founder of Mewo and BIZ Nest were present. The day also marked the first anniversary of MeWO and was celebrated on the same occasion.
