PANAJI: Goa Marathi Academy Purskars for literature by Goan writers, poets have been announced and the award distribution ceremony will be held on September 22 at Vasco. The awards of Rs 10,000 each will be given at the hands of veteran Marathi writer Prof Milind Mhadgut at Ravindra Bhavan Vasco at 3 pm. These awards are given by the Goa Marathi Academy to boost the writers in Goa, and this year 47 books were submitted by the Goan writers.
Arun Naik will receive V S Sukhatankar Puraskar for his book Vaghkolamb. Bhavarth Mandrekar will get A K Priolkar Puraskar for his book ‘Khambir Sarnaubat Hambirrao Charitra’. Gajanan Desai will get B B Borkar Puraskar for his book ‘Davbindu’ and Deepak Prabhudesai will receive Shankar Ramani Puraskar for his poetry compilation ‘Lavlahi’. Sandip Manerikar will be given Vishnu Wagh Puraskar for his play ‘Sangit Sursadhak’. Dr Neeta Torne will get Dr S S Nadkarni Puraskar for her editing and compiling of Marathi poems by Goan women writers, ‘Gomantakiy Strilikhit Marathi Kavita’. Prachi Joshi’s ‘Samakalin Kadambarikarancha Taulanik Abhyas “ Vagmayin Sanshodhan’ will receive B D Satoskar Puraskar. Ajit Painginkar’s book ‘Gavatil Manasanchya Katha’ has been selected for Pt Mahadevshastri Joshi Puraskar.
