Pankti Dattatraya Jog from Sonal, Sattari, the founder and Director, Right to Information Gujarat Initiative (National Right to Information Helpline), a social service organization working on the Right to Information Act 2005 in Gujarat won the Prof Viplav Halmi Award. Only three NGOs from across the country were shortlisted for this award.
Pankti Jog has been working as a co-director of Janpath for the last 22 years. Hers is the nodal agency of about 400 organizations across the country. She is also the founding director of RTI Gujarat Pahel. RTI Gujarat Pahel (MAGP GUJRAT) is considered to be one of the leading social service organizations in the country in the field of RTI 2005. MAGP Gujarat is a National Right to Information Helpline (HELPLINE) and can be accessed by anyone from across the country. Government officials conduct guidance workshops on Right to Information (RTI) across the country for the general public and also implement schemes for empowerment of people in rural and tribal areas through RTI Clinic.Jog hails from Sattari taluka in Goa. She was a junior scientist at the Institute of Oceanography, Donapaula. She has been working at Janpath, Gujarat since 1998.
