Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao extended their heartiest greetings on the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr to the people of Goa, particularly to the Muslim brethren. The Governor in his message said that “Eid-ul-Fitr is an appropriate occasion to rededicate ourselves to live up to the eternal and invaluable ideals professed by Prophet Mohammad. This way only the human race can find peace, amity and unity. May the celebrations of Eid-ul-Fitr this year bring renewed joy, love and peace to everyone,” he added. The CM in his message said, “Eid is an occasion to rededicate ourselves to the service of humanity and to improve the lives of the people in need. Eid Mubarak!” The CM further urged people to work for the well-being of society, State and the country. Meanwhile, the Archbishop in his message said, “The holy month of Ramadan, which precedes this family feast of every Muslim household, represents a divine call for inner transformation, through prayer and penance, culminating into the Eid-Ul-Fitr, known also as the feast of the embrace, bringing about a strong feeling of brotherhood and joy. We pray that such brotherhood may inspire all of us to become joyful witnesses of universal peace and brotherhood.”
