Heavy rains in next 3 days, IMD orange warning for July 11, 12

After taking a break since July beginning, the rain gods will shower the State for the next three days, according to an IMD forecast, which adds that on July 11 and 12 there would be very heavy rains. IMD has forecasted heavy rainfall in Goa for the next three days and very heavy rainfall (orange alert) warning is issued for July 11 and 12 due to a low-pressure area likely to form over west central and adjoining North west Bay of Bengal off north Andhra Pradesh. The concerned departments should remain alert, cautioned IMD.

On July 5, the maximum temperature in the capital city was recorded as 30.6-degree celcius and the minimum temperature was 24.5 degrees. At Mormugao the maximum temperature was recorded to be 28.7 and minimum was 23, while in some areas it was registered as 32 degrees. On July 5 the rain appeared for a short while across the State, especially at Dabolim, Mapusa and Sankhalim. There was 22.5 mm rainfall and this year there is a shortfall of 4 % on average.
