MARGAO: Holy Family parish, Alto Porvorim emerged winners of the Altar Servers football tournament organised by Mapusa Deanery on the occasion of Altar Servers Day, at Monte de Guirim, recently.
The defeated St Francis Xavier Church, Duler in the boys category. In the 5-a-side girls tie-breaker for girls they defeated St Anne Church Parra.
Best Goal keeper was awarded to Justin Alvares and the best player of the match was awarded to Israel Lopes.
Earlier, there was a solemn Eucharistic celebration along with sessions and animation.
Fr Franky was the refree for the tournament. Fr Caetano Fernades, dean of Mapusa deanery; Fr Alfi D' Cruz the Altar servers animator along with Fr Serville, Fr Savio, Fr Peter Gama, Fr John Albano, Fr Brayan Pinto and Fr Anthony Fernandes were present.
