IMD predicts light rainfall in Goa

Light rain and thundershower are very likely at isolated places across Goa between February 17 and 19, informed IMD Goa. “As on today there is a weather system called “trough” (change in direction of winds) running from North Kerala to madhya Maharashtra,” a release stated and added, “It is likely that minimum temperatures will rise by 1-2 degrees from Tuesday onwards.”

Woman drowns in Parra

MAPUSAA 75-year-old blind woman drowned in a well near her house at Aradi-Parra on Monday afternoon. According to reports, the deceased, Laxmi Korgaonkar, had gone to collect coconut leaves in the premises of her house and accidentally fell into a nearby well which had no protective wall.Her cries for help were heard by neighbours who rushed to the site and one youth jumped into the well to rescue her.A fire brigade led by Pramod Mahale reached the site and pulled her out.…
