A male adult leopard was found dead along the Konkan Railway tracks at Paddi in Barcem village on Thursday. Konkan Railway Superintendent of Police Sammy Tavares informed that the leopard was found killed on the Railway tracks at around 7.30 am on Thursday. He said the leopard was reportedly hit by a train. Sources informed that the forest officials swung into action after the incident was brought to their notice. A senior forest official said the deceased leopard was a full-grown adult wild cat. The officials disposed of the carcass of the leopard after conducting post mortem examination.
