The 49th Installation Ceremony of Lions Club of Calangute and Leo club of Calangute was held recently. MJF Lion Raies Ahmed Hakim& Leo Abbas Haider Hakim were installed as Presidents respectively alongwith their Board of Directors for the Year 2022-2023 by Installing Officer Past District Governor MJF Lion Vasudev Valawalkar. Jaspal Singh, IPS Director General of Goa Police was chief guest. He appreciated Lions and Leo Club of Calangute for their voluntarily services during Covid-19 pandemic and also providing vaccination to people free of cost for 7- 8 months.
Speaking further Singh said "Goa is a peaceful State and we have to maintain communal harmony as a number of incidents might have resonance all over the country and for that we have to see that communal harmony in maintained in the state." He urged Lions Club to organise drug awareness camps.
During the ceremony, six new Lions and one new Leo members were inducted in the club by Induction Officer Past District Governor PMJF Lion Saish Lawande. The newly installed Club President MJF Lion Raies Ahmed in his acceptance speech said that he will serve the society and keep the flag of Lionism high & stress on Environmental and health related projects.
