Suvarna Keni and Kishori Warang were elected unopposed as sarpanch and deputy sarpanch of Kasarwarne panchayat on Friday.
The posts had fallen vacant after former sarpanch Ramesh Palienkar had resigned, while the deputy sarpanch had also resigned from his post after securing a government job.
“I thank all panch members for showing their trust in me. My aim is to tackle unemployment in the village with the help of Pernem MLA Praveen Arlekar and the State government,” said Keni.
