Leader of Opposition Michael Lobo said the Congress has decided to strengthen the party at the grass roots across the country and to highlight the failures of the central government to control inflation and on other issues.
Lobo and the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar were the two Congress leaders from Goa who attended the party’s three-day ‘Chintan Shivir’, a brainstorming session at Udaipur.
Speaking to reporters on discussions emerging from the ‘Chintan Shivir’, Lobo said communal hatred being spread in society, inflation and strategies for the 2024 lok sabha elections were among the issues discussed at the meet.
He said results of elections held for the five state assemblies, including Goa, in March this year which were disappointing for the party were also discussed in the meeting.
“Leaders deliberated on how the party failed in effectively communicating the mis-governance by BJP-led state governments of UP, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.
Incidentally, senior Congress leader and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat did not attend the Chintan Shivir.
