Trupti Bandodkar was elected unopposed as the new sarpanch of theseven-member Nachinola panchayat.
The election was necessitated as former sarpanch Pooja Mayekarresigned as the sarpanch as part of verbal understanding among the group torotate the post among the women members.
Nachinola Panchayat is reserved for women sarpanch.
Outgoing sarpanch Pooja Mayekar proposed the candidature of Bandodkarand it was seconded by deputy sarpanch Freddy Fernandes.
As only Trupti Bandodkar filed her application for the post ofsarpanch, the presiding officer declared her as the new sarpanch of the villagepanchayat.
Bardez EOVP, Manohar Parwar was the presiding officer to conduct theelection process.
