PANAJI‘Puneet Sagar Abhiyan’ programme was launched on Tuesday by 1 Goa Girls Battalion and NCC unit of Dhempe College of Arts and Science at Miramar Beach. A nukkad natak on the theme was also held under the guidance of Lieutenant (Dr) K K Therisa, ANO Dhempe College of Arts and Science, 1 Goa Girls Battalion - The coordinator of the event. Sanjiv Gadkar, IAS, Director of Vigilance, Government of Goa and former NCC cadet graced the event. A total of 70 girl cadets took part in the event. The drive is part of a nationwide campaign by NCC to free seashores/beaches from plastic and other waste materials and increase awareness about the importance of keeping these areas clean. The aim of the month-long Puneet Sagar Campaign is to propagate the message of ‘Importance of Clean Seashores/Beaches’ amongst the local population and future generations.
