PANAJIThe Orlim Social Action Team (OSAT) organised a career guidance event ‘Lighthouse Career Guidance Festival’ at the St Michael’s Church ground in Orlim on November 5 from 5.30 pm to 9 pm. The aim of the event was to educate parents and children about the career options available. There were four guest speakers on the stage. Malcome Dias spoke about how to choose a career in general and shared his experience. Ankur Kankonkar shared his experience of how he achieved success as a private entrepreneur despite being blind. Avelino D’Sa spoke on disability and career options for the disabled. Joyce Gracias e Fernandes spoke to parents and their role in choosing the career of their children. Besides the speakers, 35 experienced professionals and professors were available in the different stalls to impart their knowledge, information and experiences to parents and children. At the entrance of the venue, children and parents were given the flow chart explaining the various paths after SSC and HSSC that they could choose. Resource persons from various fields were present to guide the children and parents.
