The Margao fire brigade rushed to Rawanfond on Friday evening following a call that an ATM machine located near the military gate has caught fire.
Fire personnel later told the media that the fire, which occurred near the cables, was put off immediately before it could do any damage to the ATM machine.
VALPOI: A 12-foot King Cobra was rescued from a farm at Ambeli in Sattari taluka. Locals said the King Cobra had been spotted moving in the farm and this was of concern to the farm owners and others employed at the farm. The farm owner then got in touch with a snake lover, Vinod Sawant, who went to the site and rescued the King Cobra from potential harm. The snake was later released in the Mhadei Sanctuary.
