State Election Commission has notified reservation of wards for the 3 panchayats of Alorna, Casarvarnem and Chandel-Hassapur which will go for elections on December 9. The reservations are - Alorna “ Total wards 7. Ward 1 (SC), Ward 5 (OBC) and 2, 6 and 7 (women). Casarvarnem “ Total wards 5. Ward 1 (OBC) and 4 and 5 (women). Chandel-Hassapur “ Total wards 5. Ward 4 (OBC) and 2 and 5 (women).

Manipur man held with drugs in Panaji

PANAJIThe Panaji police have arrested a youth from Manipur for allegedly peddling drugs in the capital city. The 22-year-old identified as Milan Magar was caught red-handed in possession of 109 grams of suspected charas, valued at Rs 1.09 lakh, from the garden maintained by the Forest Department. The accused has been temporarily living in Dona Paula.
