PANAJI: FC Goa maintained their lead at the top of the table, following a 3-1 victory over Mumbai City FC, on Matchday 7 of Reliance Foundation Development League (RFDL) Zonal Group Stage in Goa.
The second half of the match at Duler Stadium in Mapusa saw four goals coming in. Konsam Akash Singh handed the Gaurs a lead in the 58th minute while substitutes Lalthangliana and Jovial Dias also got onto the scoresheet. The Islanders’ skipper Mohammed Kaif pulled one back for the team in the 68th minute, but to no avail as FC Goa took the three points home.
In the afternoon kick-off at the Duler Stadium, SESA FA and MH Oranje played out a goalless draw, to share the points.
Elsewhere at the Sirsaim Ground, Dempo SC kept their solid momentum going with a 2-0 triumph over Reliance Foundation Young Champs. Chinkhosiam Dimngel & Aryan Pundalik Poll both scored late into the game to hand a crucial victory to the Golden Eagles. The win keeps Dempo SC in touching distance of FC Goa in the points table, with the two teams separated by a single point.
