MARGAO: Rossman Cruz Nagoa Verna defeated Navelim Sporting Club 3-1 to book their place in the final of the Gold Silver trophy inter-village football tournament, at Rosary church ground, Navelim, on Thursday.
Clinton Niasso of Navelim was the star of the match with his power packed shot and number of assists to his teammates and for Rossman Hilton Fernandes gave his best to his teammates.
In the fourth minute Clintontook a power-packed shot but it was blocked by Rossman defender. Savio of Rossman missed the rival target by whiskers in the tenth minute.
In the tie-breaker, Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna netted through Roydon,Hilton and Savio while Nevin found the target for Navelim Sporting.
Hilton Fernandes of Rossman Cruz, Nagoa-Verna was awarded the man of the match by Ramesh R Naik.
