Newly elected President of the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera Denzil Xavier has said the club would leave no stone unturned in its pursuit to create hope in the State.
Denzil Xavier was speaking after being installed as the 20th President of The Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera. He along with Joshua D’Mello (Secretary) and the Board of Directors & Chairpersons of the club were installed by Chief Guest and Installation Officer Past District Governor Anand Kulkarni in the presence of Dr Rajashree Kulkarni and Assistant Governor Abhijeet Walke at a ceremony in the Sala de Gaspar, Miramar.
In his acceptance speech, President Denzil Xavier said the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera has a rich history of impactful projects and initiatives.
"I am confident that in this 20th year, we will continue to build upon this legacy. We will harness our collective talents, resources, and networks to implement sustainable solutions that address the pressing challenges of our time. Whether it is supporting education, healthcare, environmental conservation, or community development, we will leave no stone unturned in our pursuit of creating hope in our beautiful state of Goa”, said Xavier.
The theme for Rotary year 2023-24 is "Create Hope in the World," as set forth by Rotary International President Gordon R. McInally.
District Governor (2023-24) Nasir Borsadwala reiterated that Mental Health, Girl Child Empowerment & Peace initiatives are key thrust areas of Rotary International and District 3170 in 2023-24.
On the occasion, Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera distributed educational scholarships, donated by Sandra Fernandes, to 8 deserving students of Noven Jeevit Home at the installation ceremony to pursue their education from Std 7 to Std 11.
The Club’s monthly magazine “THE RIVULET” was also released by Assistant Governor Abhijeet Walke in the presence of Editor-in-Chief Colleen
Sequeira.
