PANAJICinephile Film Club will be screening Spanish film Volver on March 31 at 6.30 pm at Maquinez Palace, Old GMC Complex. The 120-minute film, starring Penélope Cruz in the lead role, is an acclaimed film by one of the masters of world cinema, Pedro Almodóvar. The film won the best screenplay and best actress for the female ensemble cast. The story centres on a family of women and involves a few twists, turns, and joyful moments. Lavishing praise on Almodovar, critic Roger Ebert called him a director who loves women “ young, old, professional, amateur, mothers, daughters, granddaughters, dead, alive.
