An informative and comprehensive talk on the Biodiversity in India through Philately with special reference to Goa was held by Dr M R Ramesh Kumar, former president of Goa Philately and Numismatics at Panaji. Stating that India has some of the world's most biodiverse regions, Dr Ramesh Kumar pointed out that the political boundaries of India encompass a wide range of biomes“desert, high mountains, highlands, tropical and temperate forests, swamplands, plains, grasslands, areas surrounding rivers, as well as island archipelago. Dr Ramesh Kumar displayed the biodiversity in India through different philatelic elements such as definitive stamps, commemorative stamps, block of four stamps, miniature sheets, First Day covers, sheetlets and Mystamps and also through different topics such as Mammals, Birds, Flowers, Insects, Trees, National Parks etc.
