Two elderly woman from Aquem were robbed of their gold ornaments by two miscreants posing as policemen near the Power House when they were heading to purchase vegetables. The incident occurred on Monday evening when the two victims were approached by the miscreants, cautioning them not to move around with gold ornaments. Believing the duo, the women handed over their ornaments in a paper, without realizing that the miscreants were impersonating as policemen. After the women placed their ornaments in a paper, the duo fled from the scene with the valuables. Margao police said the two accused persons, speaking in Hindi, impersonated as police men from the Centre, before making good their escape with the ornaments. The police is investigating.
