The Verna Fire Station on Tuesday rescued a woman and a buffalo in two separate incidents on Tuesday. Verna fire station incharge Dilip Dicholkar informed that the fire department had got a call about a buffalo falling in a well near the Lotoulim church at around 5.40 pm. "We rushed to the spot and realised that the well was actually a pit dug of around 8-10 feet and while we were rescuing the buffalo, we got a call from Panjim that a woman had fallen into a well.” “We later rushed to the site behind the Lotoulim Health Centre and managed to rescue her. We are unsure how the woman reached the health centre which is around 3-4 kms from her residence and how she fell into the well,” said Dicholkar.
